BY ATTENDING EVENTS, NETWORKING AND PROVIDING QUALITY CONTENT, I WAS ABLE TO GAIN THE FIRM’S TRUST to eventually recommend me as a recipe developer to a large food brand I continue to work with today on a regular basis. In 2010, back in my early years as a blogger, the PR Firm first invited me to the brand’s headquarters with a small group of bloggers and participate in a cooking event using the brand’s Hispanic products. By attending, I was able to work one-on-one with the brand’s culinary manager and get to know her, her work and learn more about the demographic the brand was aiming for when their recipes were developed.
By attending this event, asking questions, listening to the brand and offering my help, I created what has become one of my most cherished professional relationships. The brand has followed my progress and has eventually hired me to not only develop recipes for their Hispanic outreach products but has placed its trust in me to consult them in product innovation, food styling and photographing their recipes as well.
